- Amcrest 1080p Surveillance Webcam for $56
Amcrest IP2M-841 1080p Wifi Surveillance Webcam With Remote-Controlled Pan/Tilt for $56, and an order today includes a free $5 Newegg Promotional Gift Card.
The camera is available in white and in black.
It normally sells for at least $70.
We have two of these watching our home, and found them to be an excellent value for the price and superb video quality even at night.
For someone who enjoys hacking around with technology, there's a lot of features in this little camera.
We use their app to watch the webcams live and move the camera head around the room, and configured the software on the cameras to make image captures when movement is detected, and store video on an FTP server or MicroSD memory card.
For someone non-technical, we do not recommend this product.
The software has a lot of features/settings, and not as simple to use as a Nest or Netgear Arlo.
Nest and Arlo both use a fee-based cloud service to store videos, so your operating cost would go up.
The Amcrest is cheaper since a MicroSD memory card or your own FTP server can be used to store all the images and videos, but will take some time to setup.

- 2K Home Surveillance Camera with Remote Pan/Tilt $71 (expired)
For the next few hours, there's a sale on the Amcrest 2K home surveillance camera.
We recommend this deal for tech savvy people, and those looking for a cheap do-it-yourself home surveillance option.
This camera has remote-control pan & tilt, two-way audio, and night vision, and can be mounted to a ceiling or wall.
We have older versions of this camera in our home (model IP2M-841W), and found it an excellent value for the price.
The day & night video quality are better than Nest, Ring, and popular consumer surveillance brands.
This camera provides a free Amcrest app for live viewing.
Tech savvy people can setup their router to "port forward" the camera for live viewing outside the house.
And, our favorite feature, motion detection can email a snapshot when movement is detected.
There are lots of confusing configuration options, such as tweaking the video quality, night vision settings, and setting up remote live-upload of the video streams to an FTP server.
It's a shame the product documentation is poor and could take some time to figure out, however, that is probably why a feature-full camera is priced at just $71.
