Digital Camera Deals for a Vacation:
If you are planning a vacation sometime soon, you probably want a real digital camera to take photos better than your smartphone can.
A real digital camera has a much better lens and flash than what is on your phone, so it can take sharper photos especially under low-light conditions.
Compact cameras are good for indoor use, and cameras with larger lenses are better for outdoor use.
This is probably one of the best times of the year to buy a used, older model digital camera on Ebay.
6 years ago, if you wanted to take digital pictures, you needed to buy a digital camera.
Now everyone carries around a personal camera on their phone, so the market for handheld digital cameras is different.
Prices of new cameras are still high, with underwater cameras (with full HD recording) going for $150 to $250, and SLR cameras going for $500 to $2000.
Many 6 year-old cameras (used) are available on Ebay now with many of the same features the new cameras have today.
Plus, since most people have also finished their summer vacations by now, so there are not a lot of travelers bidding for cameras on Ebay right now.
Even some 6 year-old SLR cameras are going for under $150 (body only, without lens), about one-sixth the price of a newer model.
If you are planning a vacation soon, and want to bring a camera that can take excellent pictures while being cheap enough if it were to break or get stolen, Ebay is full of great deals right now.
When buying an older model camera, be sure it takes Secure Digital (SD) memory cards.
SD cards are pretty much the standard today, and cards are very cheap (about 40¢ per GB).
Some older cameras, especially Sony cameras, use other media such as Compact Flash and Memory Stick.
Also beware that some older cameras that include batteries may not carry a charge as well as they did when new.
Sometimes a replacement rechargeable battery can go for $10 to $50, depending on the model.
Some older cameras may also take AA batteries, something very useful when traveling since you can just carry extra batteries rather than charging the camera each night.
When researching digital cameras, you can use SnapSort.com to compare cameras' features, sizes, and ratings.
Many 6-7 year-old cameras have similar features as cameras today, including HD (720p) video recording, image-stabilized optical zoom, and compact sizes.
- iPad Mini Retina 16GB for $330
A reputable seller on Ebay is offering the iPad Mini 2nd Generation 16GB Wifi Tablet for $330 with free shipping.
Most stores sell it for $370 to $400, so $330 is one of the best deals around.
The 1st generation iPad Mini can often be found for around $250, but the 2nd generation iPad Mini has a Retina display (sharper image), a much better processor, and a better battery life.
Unless you only plan on using the iPad Mini as a fancy remote control and music player, we believe the 2nd generation iPad Mini Retina is a better value.
The iPad Mini Retina's 7.9x5.3 inch size is good size for a tablet, if you already have a laptop computer or device with a larger screen.
If you plan on (almost) replacing your laptop or desktop computer with a tablet, consider the larger screen of an iPad Air or a regular iPad.
iPad tablets do retain their value longer than any other tablet or laptop computer on the market today.
- LG 32" LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV for $269
LG 32-inch LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV is currently priced at $269 through BuyDig.com's Ebay store.
Mostly positive reviews and usually sells for $100 more.
- D-Link DIR-615 Wifi Router $15
D-Link DIR-615 Wireless N300 Router for $15 from Newegg's Ebay store.
Works with DD-WRT firmware.
It is a low-powered, somewhat unreliable router, the reasons it received so many fair/poor reviews, however may be a great deal at just $15.
If you do want a reliable router, we recommend spending more on something else than waste $15 on this one.

- Apple iPad Air 16GB Tablet for $400, or 32GB for $490
- Changhong 50" LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV for $380
Newegg.com is offering their Changhong 50-inch LED-backlit LCD 1080p HDTV for $380 through their Ebay store.
Limited quantity is available.
The reviews are mostly positive.
We have one, and can honestly say that this is a great value for a HDTV.
While it lacks a lot of features of other TVs (no smart TV features, and no 120Hz and above), the quality of the image is good and the size of the TV is a great value for the price.
