Here is our step-by-step instructions.
Prepare your Visa Checkout account:
If you have previously used the Starbucks app to pay at Starbucks stores, be sure to do this:
- Log in to your Starbucks.com account online here.
- In the black bar in the middle, click "Settings" (located to the right of History).
- Click "Payment Methods" on the left.
- Delete any credit cards you have previously used to buy Starbucks credit.
This way, you can add your credit card through Visa Checkout even if it had been previously used to buy Starbucks credit.
Run the Starbucks app on your phone:
- Download if you don't have it: for iOS or for Android.
- If the app prompts you to sign up for Starbucks Rewards, do it.
- Click "Pay" at the top.
- Click "Reload" at the bottom.
- For the amount, choose $10.
You may have to choose "Other" then select "$10".
- Click "Paying With" to change the payment method, and add a new payment method of "Visa Checkout".
Press "Add Card With Visa Checkout".
- When signed in to Visa Checkout, choose to pay with any major credit card.
They accept American Express, Master Card, Discover, and debit cards (not just Visa cards).

- Complete your $10 order.
- Within 24 hours, you should get an email with free $10 Starbucks credit that you can apply to your Starbucks app.
This deal will expire on December 22 or until all funds are given away.

When you receive the bonus gift card by email, you can add combine it to the single gift card on the Starbucks app.
- View your gift cards, and add a new one.
Enter the numbers on the free gift card you received via email.
- Once added, you can merge one $10 card onto the other $10 card.
This way, you have a single card of $20 rather than two separate $10 cards.
