In competition to Amazon's 2-Day Prime Sale, Google also reduced their prices on smart home products.

Deals include: Our home has far more Google smart products than Amazon, because we found the Google Assistant is far superior to Amazon Alexa. It searches the web really well, and integrates nicely with Google Calendar and Voice.

It also integrates nicely with our Android-based Nvidia Shield TV, to use our voice for things like, "play Shakira on Shield" or "Open Kodi" or "Pause the TV". The Shield's processor performs faster than a Fire Stick or a Roku, and works with all streaming media services, including YouTube and Amazon Prime, versus Amazon Fire TV which does not work with YouTube. However the Shield does cost a lot compared to other streaming devices.

Amazon Alexa products work well too, and has slightly better integration with third-party smart home products like light switches. There will be plenty of Amazon deals available for the next few days, but definitely look at Google products as an alternative.
