Details:Obihai Voice-Over-IP Home Phone Adapter for $35
(repost)

For the next couple days, Newegg is selling the OBi200 Voice Over IP telephone adapter for $35 when applying code EMCRCBE38 in the cart ($48.25 before coupon). Normally sells for $50.

Works with a free Google Voice account. Here is an instructional setup video with Google Voice.

The OBi plugs into any home telephone, giving you free home phone service.

We own the 2-line OBi202 version, and love it. Pros:
  • Call quality is better than mobile/cell phones.
  • All calls (incoming and outgoing) within the US and Canada are free with Google Voice.
  • Google voice and voicemail integrates nicely with the home phone, computer, and mobile phone.
  • Easy to add another line. Just get a second OBi200 or buy the 2-line version.
The cons:
  • Emergency 911 calls do not work with Google Voice. Obi does offer 911 service through Anveo for $15/year, and is easy to add to the free Google Voice. We recommend adding this, though it is not required.
  • A regular home telephone line can still operate during a power outage, however the OBi will not. If your electricity shuts off or Internet connection dies, the OBi will not work.
