| Details: | Airfare Sale For Travel August to December Southwest frequently has airfare sales between select cities, but this one is getting a lot of attention because almost every route has a lot of seats available at the discounted price. The sale prices are for travel August through mid-December. Our recommendation is to use the Southwest Low Fare Search page to view entire month's prices at once. This can help you find the best deals. Southwest prices include 2 checked-bags and carry-on luggage per passenger. Most other airlines, such as Delta, United, and American charge for checked baggage. Some super low-budget airlines, like Frontier and Spirit, charge hefty fees for carry-on luggage. So, Southwest's total airfare cost may be better even if other airlines have a lower initial cost. Also, Southwest flights can be cancelled for any reason, at least 24 hours prior to the departure time. Returned tickets are given as dollar credit, applicable toward future travel within 1 year from the date you purchased them. This can give you some flexibility if your plans change or are uncertain. Say you want to visit grandmom in Florida but not sure if you can go in September or October, buy both trips at the sale price today, then cancel the one you decide not to use at least 24 hours prior to its departure time. Set your calendar to remind you to cancel one of your trips. The credit can apply toward future Southwest travel, as long as it happens within 1 year from the date you originally purchased the travel. |
