Hot Deals Club - Membership Information

We will accept new members again sometime around July-August of 2006. You may sign up on a Waiting List to be notified when you can join the Hot Deals Club.

Join the Hot Deals Club. Membership gives you the following features:

Access to more deals and our complete database of articles. Some of the deals that members have access to:
- Complex long-running hot deals that are very hot, but are not frequently featured on our front page. These deals are hot in that customers can purchase items at very low costs, but the deals never expire. These are not normal hot deals that have expiration dates - these are hot deals that last forever, but are updated constantly with new information. Members have access to the constantly updated new information, if they profile their Hot Deals account to receive updates on those deals. One previous example of this is Columbia House DVD Club deals. Since ColumbiaHouse changes their plans very frequently, members received updates deal every few weeks.
- Instant access to new deals, and future deals. After 8pm (eastern time), members will have the ability to view tomorrow's deals, if any are available by that time. If you are a frequent visitor to this site, you already know that a lot of deals often go online at midnight or 9am. Much like how a newspaper works, those deals were actually typed several hours in advanced, and are automatically made available to the public after midnight. Members can see tomorrow's deals as early as 8pm (eastern), if any exist at that time. This allows members to get an early jump on deals.
- Instant access to every hot deal. Non-members will only see updates on the front page a few times each day. Automatic updates are scheduled at around 12am, 9am, 1pm, and 5pm (eastern) each day. Members are not limited to the update schedule, since they see all deals the moment that are added or updated.
- Some of the better deals are delayed to non-members by up to 48 hours. As most of you already know, when a great deal is posted, it often expires within the first few hours of being online. By limiting the deal viewers to a smaller set of people (the members), that gives every member the ability to jump on a deal long before it gets posted to the public, and deals often expire quickly after being posted to the public. You will have the opportunity to take advantage of most popular deals long before they sell out or expire.
Old Deals. Non-members only have access to deals that were posted (or reposted) over the last 7 to 10 days (depending on the quanitity of deals over that time). Members will have access to the last three years of deals at any time, all searchable and categorized.
Fancy search engine. Can't find that old deal? Our search engine has indexed all deals and articles posted between now and September 2001. Many people have asked me where the "old pages" have gone to. Don't worry about searching through old pages trying to find a deal, just use our new search engine.
Message boards, where members can exchange information about each deal. Coming soon.
Hot Deals Alert System. Be notified immediately by email when a hot deal arrises that fits your profile. Are you looking for a hot deal on a LCD Flatpanel Monitor, winter clothes, or a vacation? There are two problems I have found with Hot Deals: 1) the really hot deals are usually sold out shortly after they are posted to the public on my website, and 2) someone who was waiting for a particular item found they missed the boat when it arrived. Customize your account profile of what you are looking for. When a hot deal comes up that fits your profile, you will instantly receive an email alert with its details. That way you find out about deals that are hot to you, long before anyone else knows about them.
Localized Hot Deals. Based on your profile, we can advise you of specific hot deals that are only available in your area. Our profile is smart enough to give you the localized deals in your region. For example, a southwestern Connecticut member will be made aware of hot deals that are local to CT, NY, and NJ.

Features that are coming very soon to Members:

Message boards. We are getting the bugs out of the system, so it should be done soon.
Ability to access Hot Deals from your web-enabled cell phone or PDA.
Access Hot Deals from an AOL Instant Messanger (tm) session. Possibly will be linked to the Hot Deal Alert System, so you will receive an automatic AIM message to alert you of a hot deal that fits your profile.
Subscribe to receive updates on specific deals. If you are interested in a deal, be notified by email when a deal is updated with new information.
Company profiles. Are you curious of what companies are good and what are not? What companies sell the best quality memory products? What companies have a bad history of fulfilling rebates? What is Amazon.com's customer service phone number? What is the name and direct phone number of the sales manager at Dell? Check our searchable Company Profile database.

Now some background of why we have a Members section.

This website has always been user-supported, and not company supported. We are trying to stay that way, to ensure that we only show the deals that truly are hot. Most other "Hot Deals" websites earn a profit for advertising a deal as Hot. They actually take a percentage of product sales that are generated by users clicking on their links. That's a great business model, but it screws the consumer. Those websites will often feature a deal as "hot" because they earn more money as more people click on them, even though most of those deals really are not good at all. To keep this website full of only truly hot deals, we vow not to accept any commission from our visitors' clicks on links. However, from a business perspective how could we pay for our time to do all this Hot Deals research? The answer for now is to ask our loyal visitors for a nominal yearly fee to join our Hot Deals Club as a member. The only escuse we have is to offer a value-added service for our members. I think these services are well worth the membership costs, and will continue to get better over the next few months. Even if you don't want any of the membership privileges, at least you will be doing your part in supporting this website. Don't be scared away! If you don't want to sign up, that's okay. You can still enjoy this site the way you always have:

Non-members will still be able to access the site for free, like they always have. No site changes are planned for non-members.
This site has always been ad-free, and we will try to keep the non-members pages ad free for as long as possible.
The point here was to add value to the service, by offering membership privileges. Non-members will have access to virtually all of the same deals that members have access to, but members will have access to them first.

Where does my annual fee actually go to?

Every dollar that is collected from our Membership fees will go back into this website. First our server and bandwidth costs will be covered. Every excess dollar will go into enhancing the website and offerings to our members. Specific things that non-members will not have access to:

"Old Pages". Once a deal disappears from our front page, a non-member may not be able to locate that deal again until it is reposted.

At this time, we are only accepting a limited number of members so our members areas do not get too crowded - the exact number of members has yet to be determined. Membership term and member cancellations:

If you cancel your Hot Deals Club membership within 72 hours from the time your account goes live, you will receive a refund of your subscription payment. After 72 hours of being a member, the $25 charged to your account will be non-refundable. It takes a minimum of 3 days and a maximum of 7 days for a refund to be posted into your account. If you do cancel and receive a refund, you will not be allowed to subscribe again until 6 months have passed. The duration of your membership will be 366 calendar days from the day you sign up, after which you will have the option to renew for an additional year or let your account expire. All dollar amounts are in United States Dollars (USD). You may use the Hot Deals Club membership services as much or as little as you want during your membership period. Any member who violates the rules of the site can & will have his/her account terminated without refund. Additionally, Hot Deals Club reserves the right to refuse membership applicants and/or renewals for any reason. Privacy Policy:

The contract between Hot Deals Club and Paysystems requires Paysystems to keep every subscriber's information private, and Paysystems will not share any subscriber's information with any third party, other than the Hot Deals Club. Additionally, Hot Deals Club will not share any subscriber's information with any third party without permission from the subscriber. Paysystems guarantees that all credit card information will be secure. If the Hot Deals Club subscriber blatently violates the rules and regulations of the site, such as hacking the site, purposely refusing to pay membership after membership transaction goes through, or purposely doing any kind of harm to the Hot Deals Club site, then the subscriber loses all privacy rights as described here.

All Hot Deals Club members MUST agree to these terms. A user who requests membership must first agree to these terms.

Each subscription is licensed to ONE person only. That ONE person may use his/her login at home, at work, in a lab, or anywhere they wish. Families may use the single subscription within their own household and on computers within the home. Only the subscription holder can use the subscription on computers outside of the household. So the subscriber can use the subscription at home, at work, in a lab, at a friend's house, on vacation, whenever. The subscriber can share the membership account with anyone else who uses a single home computer. Subscriber can not share the account with friends, officemates, relatives, and strangers. If a user violates the license, their subscription may be canceled without refund.
Subscriber must be at least 18 years old.
It will take up to 24 hours for a login password to be created for a new subscriber who uses a credit card, however it usually takes 3-8 hours for members who use a credit card. People who use a check online (e-check) will take about 1-2 weeks to process. Members who use a check or checking account transfer may have to wait up to 2 weeks for their checks to clear before their Hot Deals Club membership account is created.
Our payment processor is PaySystems. PaySystems takes full responsibility for the security of your credit card information, and no credit card information is stored on the Hot Deals Club. PaySystems is a major credit card processing center, they know what they're doing when it comes to keeping your card number and personal information secure. Through Paysystems we can accept the following forms of payment: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, JCB, CarteBlanche, and checks.
The subscriber understands that whether he/she uses the Hot Deals Club membership features or not, the membership will expire 366 days after the signup date. The term is always 366 days, so the phrase "one year subscription" or "annual" subscription referrs to 366 days, no matter if the term includes a leap year or not.
The subscriber also understands that the Hot Deals Club is not responsible for connectivity and/or computer problems on the subscriber's end that may inhibit the subscriber's ability to access his/her Hot Deals Club membership services.
Problems caused by the Hot Deals Club server can happen, and the Hot Deals Club webmaster will grant members additional days on their membership duration if there is a problem with the Hot Deals Club server or the server's direct connection to the Internet. Membership makes no guarantees that the site will be available to the member 100% of the time, or even at all, but additional subscription days will be added to the subscriber's term if a server problem prevents the subscriber from accessing the site.
The Hot Deals Club website assumes no responsibility for all emails that were not delivered to the subscriber's inbox as a result of the subscriber's mail server rejecting the mail or the subscriber's email software identifying the email as spam. All emails sent to subscribers will come from "Hot Deals Maniac".
The subscriber understands that Hot Deal alerts are never unsolocited, that the subscriber has the ability to immediately cancel receiving all Hot Deal alerts, and the subscriber will not report Hot Deal alerts as "spam" to the authorities unless the subscriber is unable to cancel Hot Deal alert subscription after 3 attempts.
Even though membership gives subscribers additional resources to see Hot Deals, membership does NOT guarantee that subscribers will actually see Hot Deals before anyone else. Obviously, there is no way to truly guarantee that. Additional tools and information are available to subscribers, but whether the subscriber collects, reads, and receives the information is completely up to the subscriber. In addition, membership does not give any guarantee that subscribers will successfully achieve all Hot Deals since buyers are always at the mercy of the vendor supplying the deal.
Member agrees: 1) NOT TO directly copy/forward the text from the Hot Deals Club site or text from Hot Deals Club generated emails for personal or financial gain; 2) NOT TO place Hot Deals Club generated text or emails on a webpage or distribution list until the Hot Deals Club text/email is more than 24 hours old; and 3) NOT TO share his/her login password with anyone outside of the account holder's household. Basically, you can feel free to tell your friends about any hot deals you find through us, but you cannot start your own site by copying our data. If I send you a Hot Deal email, you cannot copy/paste that email on a public forum right away, and you cannot start a distribution list where my emails get forwarded to lots of people. Feel free to share the deals with your friends, but just don't send out your own mass-mailing nor put my stuff on your own webpage and claim it to be yours.
Hot Deals Club subscriber must not be a present or future owner, partial owner, or have influence in a website that competes with Hot Deals Club. If you have questions as to whether another website is a competitor to Hot Deals Club, ask the Hot Deals Maniac whose email address is located on the top of www.hotdealsclub.com.
If the user fails to receive a login password within 24 hours or the subscriber has problems logging in, then the user MUST contact Hot Deals Club support to report the problem. If the subscriber does not receive his/her password and the subscriber fails to notify the problem to the Hot Deals Club, then the Hot Deals Club website may be unaware of any login issues and will be unable to provide assistance at a loss to the subscriber. This means if you encounter a problem with your account, tell us, otherwise we may be unaware of the problem and thus we will not fix it.
Four weeks before the member's subscription expiration date, the member will receive an email from the Hot Deals Club with instructions on how to renew the subscription. Renewal rates are typically at or near the rate the subscriber originally joined at, however understand that Hot Deals Club membership rates may increase or decrease causing a change in the member's subscription rate. I cannot guarantee your subscription renewal price, but I can tell you that as of Summer 2004, all subscribers that were ever given the opportunity to renew given the same price at which they subscribed at. The subscriber has the option to take action to renew the subscription for an additional year, or the subscriber may do nothing and let the subscription expire.
The subscriber's home state may require the subscriber to pay sales tax for this online transaction. It is the sole responsibility of the subscriber to pay all applicable sales tax for an Internet services transaction.
Hot Deals Club membership support is done over email only. The subscriber must maintain a valid email address under his/her user preferences so that the Hot Deals Club can communicate with the subscriber.
This page is for new membership subscriptions only - renewals are not done on this page! If you are a current member and if you do subscribe on this page, then you will have two separate subscriptions. New subscriptions cost $25 for the first year of membership.

You posted the Sierra Trading Post deal, well I went to their Bargain Barn, where any Hot Deals person would go, and picked up a pair of $75.00 motorcycle gloves for .... get this ... $4.46 delivered. This was less than their standard delivery. The gloves actually are the best I ever owned. I can't believe it.
Brad M. got Palm Tungsten T3's for half price: I had Office Depot hold all 3 of them for me. Got there and they rang up $199.00. Store was mad I bought all of them but oh well. I was the first caller thanks to my hot deals email that you sent out, now they are getting bombarded with calls and they said I was the first to call and to show up. I brought in my receipt to Staples showing I bought 3 for $199 (each), they only had two for $400 (each)... and pricematched it to $180 after 10% match. I got a total of five Tungsten T3's, one for me, one for dad, and 3 for Ebay. Thank you hotdeals!
