Superb picture at a super price
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To date, after a few weeks of owning this TV, I am just amazed at the image. It is very impressive. This is the biggest size TV I have ever owned. It works perfectly over our mantle. We also added the TCL Alto 7+ 2.1 sound bar with wireless sub woofer. What a great combo this is! I did notice some motion blur early on but I did some online research for best settings for this model and it was recommended to use Natural Cinema to decrease motion blur and that issue was solved. Other reviews here should have tried that setting. Otherwise I have no complaints - only praise. The Roku interface is so easy to use. It features voice search which works fine. Having volume control on Roku remote is nice. We had the TV and sound bar professionally installed and the technician said we had purchased a great TV and that he owned a TCL TV too. He has seen and installed 100s of high end models and stated this model is very close in image quality to brands that cost twice as much. I feel quite confident after discussing things with the installer that this TV is indeed a fine choice for a good price. Just buy this now and ignore the naysayers out there. Some people are never satisfied. If you're considering the TCL Alto 7+ sound bar just go buy it. Happy shopping.

Great value, excellent TV
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love this TV. The picture quality out of the box is amazing, color and detail is incredible. Tested it first night with some of the best GoT episodes and it really delivered. Only had for about a week now but it doesn't stop impressing me. Haven't even calibrated it or changed any of the settings like I've had to do with other TVs and it is clearly on par with other brands at higher price points. I did have an issue with WiFi saying network had no internet but I had planned on using wired internet connection anyway so I just plugged in the CAT5. Would recommend!

This TV does NOT disappoint!! EXCELLENT!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have always been an LG fan and own 3 LG TVs. We have needed a new one since one is old and the sound had gone out last year. I have like an 80" upstairs in our theater bonus room and was basically just looking at a 65" LG Nano 9 for our downstairs living room priced at $1099 at Best Buy (cuz I knew I couldn't afford an OLED and did worry about the burn in issue). But then this TV caught my eye at Best Buy because I saw QLED and $799 and I was immediately intrigued. I've always wanted an OLED or QLED, but knew I didn't want to spend that kind of money or knew I shouldn't lol. So this TV definitely caught my attention and I began reading review after review and watching videos on reviews and even found a link where I could compare side by side reviews of different TV's. The TCL even blew out of the water some of the higher end brand TV's like LG, Sony and Samsung. Here's the link to review different TV's for yourself in your price range. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/compare/hisense-h8f-vs-tcl-r625/839/1591 I have always been looking for only TV's with full array, 120 native hz and 240 true motion and so this TCL didn't have that, but had the 60 hz upscaled to 240 motion. So it came down to having to budge on that to get a QLED or stick with the 120 and not have the QLED and even spend more on the Nano 9 which reviewed really close with the TCL. After realizing that one of my great LGs I've had since 2011 is only 60 hz and looks just great, I finally decided to try the TCL and get the QLED with just the 60 hz. I didn't want to spend another 300-400 to have both when even that model of Samsung QLED didn't have as good of ratings as this TCL brand and was not full array. I ordered on the 8th and picked up 3 days ago on my birthday July 16th. I've had it 3 days and it does not disappoint!! I Love the Roku platform, it's so easy to use and this TV looked great right out of the box!! Setup was easy! You need two people and it was so fast and easy. Found where the settings were so I could tweak and test some different ones but pretty much kept it where the original settings were. I did switch everything to bright cuz I love the bright vivid colors. I also stuck in a 4K movie to see how it looked and it was perfect!! Blacks were so black and colors just popped!! I went to an HDR channel on YouTube that shows alot of the pictures you see on TV's at best buy etc to see how it compares and I couldn't tell much difference from the higher end OLEDS and QLEDS! Such a perfect clear picture!! I turned to a sports channel and it looked just fine to me! I'm sure if I had side by side comparison with a 120 hz I would be able to tell a slight difference, but this was just fine and for the price I'm not disappointed!! If your looking for a great, clear tv with a full array QLED panel that's not gonna break your bank, then this is the one for you!! Probably the biggest thing I didn't like was the leg placement, but that wasn't a deal breaker for me. Hope this review has helped you on deciding if this tv will work for you or not! Thanks Best Buy and TCL for making an affordable QLED tv!!

THE BEST TV ON THE MARKET!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the TCL QLED 65” series 6 and what a great decision that was! This replaced a 55” SAMSUNG that had 4 white spots on the screen after I payed $1,400 less than 4 years ago......before that I had a 55” SONY I payed $1350 for that developed a vertical line across it after 3 years, and the picture on both were NOT as good as my $799 QLED 65” TCL! This is my first TCL, but not my last. It’s no wonder TCL is blowing away the BIG names! Do some research, you’ll see that this Chinese company is the fastest growing tv in the world. All the experts are always talking about the “blacks” contrast....... I’m no expert, I just watch these things........and even I can see the “black” thing the experts talk about! I watched this with just the tv speakers they are better than my last two tv’s........but did hook up my Sound bar which makes a difference. I LOVE the ROKU system, thousands of access to lots of stuff. For the first time I am seriously thinking about cutting cord!.... And of course, BEST BUY IS THE BEST at what they do! Buy a TCL, you won’t regret it! Oh, and did I say mount it on the wall?

A "Best Buy".. Nothing better for the money!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second TCL in as many years. I last purchased a 55" set in the 2018 6 series and have been very happy with that set. This year we upgraded to the 65" 6 series not only for the size but when I saw that QLED had been added to the already super impressive list of features I could not resist. This set is amazing... The picture quality is second to none in the under $15oo. price range. The picture out of the box is in need of some slight adjustment but that is to be expected of any new set. I have set the adjustments for our room on both the home screen out put and the HDMI in put we are using from our receiver. Every one who has seen it is completely blown away. A lot of people have asked why TCL. the set speaks for it self. I would highly recommend this set for anyone considering a set in the $1000.00 price range.

Terrific picture!!!!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was not sure if a TLC would be a good replacement for my Samsung but wow! It looks great! Movies, video games and online content look amazing. There are a lot of picture settings for sports, movies and games that will take a little time to figure out what you like best but it is worth it when you find the settings that soot your viewing pleasures. The build quality is superb! I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality materials used for a mid year brand. I love it!

Amazing picture quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming from a 100 inch projector, I wasn't sure if I'd be happy with a smaller screen. But I was wrong, the picture quality is fantastic, I've enjoyed watch 4k HDR movies as well as gaming on my PS4. Having the Roku interface built in is great feature and means less wires.

Very Happy!
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After doing much research on the best 65” tv under a thousand bucks for all around viewing performance It came down to this award winning (see Cnet review) TCL or the Visio for $200 more... this TCL replaced an LG 50” that was not a smart tv and was 1080p. This tv has Dolby Vision AND Dolby Atmos. It’s amazing! Very happy with my purchase.

Q: QuestionWhat’s the difference between this tv and the 615 version?
Asked by Josh.
- A:Answer This model is the new 2019 version and has the addition of Quantum dots which increases the wide color gamut as well as peak brightness. The legs are also different from the 2018 version.

Q: QuestionHow is the 6 series different than the 4 series?
Asked by Bob.
- A:Answer As an owner of both the 55s405 and the newest 65R625, I am well positioned to answer such a question. "How is the 6 series different than the 4 seires?" As far as the picture, colors, brightest, etc. They are not even on the same planet. The difference is astronomical. The 4 series was a good buy back when it came out. If you did not know what a great TV could be like, the non HDR/HD10 content on the series 4 would probably seem just fine or alright. It is an okay picture for standard 4k content. It can't even display Dolby Vision, which is typically better than HDR/HD10 in my experience. But the HDR feature on the 4 series is completely unwatchable, darkens the picture to utter trash. It lacks the brightness and ability for HDR. It should not even be sold as HDR capable, cause it simply cannot handle it properly. Not even a little, it's nothing like what HDR is supposed to look like. The 6 series is night and day difference. Fall to bright snow winter. So bright but more importantly, it pops out the picture and colors in a way you have to see first hand to really understand. It's WOW for sure. The HDR experience on the 6 series is like comparing a key chain tiny flashlight in the dark to being outside in the mid day sun during daylight. The acceptable picture quality of the 4 series in non HDR content becomes dim and faded if you have a 6 series to compare to. It's a world of difference. I have the 2019 6 series, the R625, and the local dimming on this TV does things way different than even the P series P607 tv I got. It surpasses that TV in every way. Instead of just dimming dark areas, it brightens up bright areas, making everything you watch pop out. So everything looks more defined, crazy contrast, brighter by order of magnitudes. These TVs are not way different when it comes to Roku or operation of smart features. Other than the voice search options, the Roku is pretty much the same: quick and nimble. As far as the picture and sound quality, the R625 simply blows away the 4 series in a highly noticeable and apparent way.

Q: QuestionIt says that for pickup with my car it is not recommended that the TV lay flat. SUV not tall enough to have it stand up vertically, so is it ok to be on a slant in back of car? What are exact dimensions of box.
Asked by Cuspis.
- A:Answer Yes, it’s fine. I brought mine home this way and so have many others. Just make sure the screen side is up. Have done this 3 times with zero issues.

Q: QuestionMy TV stand is 50" wide . Will the legs fit on it?
Asked by Craig.
- A:Answer While it is true that it is disappointing that TCL went with the 2 wide spread legs instead of the center leg, it has VESA mounts so for about US$50, you can buy a VESA stand that works perfectly. I went with the PERLESMITH Universal Swivel TV Stand and it works great on my narrower TV stand.

Q: QuestionIs it really hard to unbox and set up? I'm older and live by myself and not technically inclined.
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer The 65 R625 is very easy to unbox; I would suggest searching on YouTube for unboxing/set up of 65 R625, will help a lot. If you can get someone to help lift it out of the box and putting it on your tv stand, I would do so, ( you will need a very long stand; the feet/stand of the tv are located at very end of each side of the tv). If you have to do on your own, I would suggest unboxing to a table or support placed close to where you will be setting up to view. After installing the feet on the tv, gently east the feet onto your stand and use the foam in box to help buffer you lifting onto tv stand. Connectivity and channel setup is very easy; make sure you already have a Roku account, or create one, since the operating system of this tv is Roku-based. Hope this helps.

Q: QuestionI've read and saw reviews on this tv regarding shipping ... Amazon... Broken sets crack sets broken packaging I'm sure you've received your TV's from the same company my question is do you inspect the TV's before receiving them
Asked by Snick.
- A:Answer I originally ordered one from Amazon because they had them available much sooner than BB, unfortunately it arrived damaged. Luckily, Amazon's return process was super easy. If going that route, you can certainly quickly open the package upon delivery but you may not be able to refuse it if is damaged. Again, Amazon will set up a free return pick up and will credit you shortly after it is collected. I personally have never used Best Buy home delivery since the store is super close but I have yet to take one home and open a TV that has been damaged.

Q: QuestionI owned and just sold the TCL p605 and I was able to get the Apple TV app. That tv is two years old. I can’t find the Apple TV app in the store for my new R625. On the roku store online it shows I purchased it but I can’t get it on my new tv. Help!
Asked by emceeicon.
- A:Answer Just as an FYI: I was able to get the Apple TV app on this TV just yesterday. Looks like it’s supported now!
