I have to honestly say that I didn't expect this USB to be so good for its price. I bought it and sent it to Cuba for my mother. I didn't think it would turn out so good. My mother uses it practically every day and it works perfectly. I must say against it that it is not super fast when transferring files but it is not slow either. really for the use we give it it is very good. Quickly connects to both PC and TV. and once connected it plays the files without any problem. I really recommend it

I needed to save all my pictures from my old computer before I could hook up my new computer. I wasn't sure how much space I needed. My son said this was more then enough. And it was. I don't know anything about gigabites or anything. I do know there is more then 20,000 images on it and it isn't barely used any space. Thats a plus in my book.

Windows users will have to do a quick reformat to NTFS file system to store big files

Great USB Flash Drive, I really appreciate the larger capacity. Note, the USB drive comes default with the FAT32 operating system, which limits file size to 4 gigabytes. If you try to copy large video files, it will give you an error.

I found a useful article "Why Can’t I Copy Large Files to My High Capacity Flash Drive?" on the howtogeek website which described what was happening.

With the USB drive plugged into a Windows 7 or Windows 10 computer, you can go to Computer, select the USB drive, right mouse click on it, and then change format to NTFS. It is very quick and easy.

One other note, I first did the format to NTFS on my Windows 7 PC, but it was not readable on my Windows 10 PC. I reformatted it to NTFS on my Windows 10 PC, and it was readable on both.

SanDisk is my old dependable when it comes to saving large numbers of photos. Some brands promise more storage capacity, but I've found them to be extremely slow and not fully reliable. Hope SanDisk develops some sticks with higher storage capacity, but what good is a 1 TB stick(from another brand) if you can't make it work?

I recently purchased a cheaper priced USB drive from Amazonbasics, however it had a problem with disconnecting and reconnecting on my Xbox Series X, which was a problem, because it also disconnected my controller. I tried restarting the console, putting the drive back in after restarting, but the problem still stayed. Not really good if you have games on it. But as always with SanDisk brand devices, this didn't fail at all! Stores a lot of data with no problem of disconnecting! Runs just as good as my smaller drive but with more space! It may cost a bit more than the cheaper brands, but it's well worth it!

Expensive file recovery tool

I bought 2 and both failed prematurely. It denies access to files after about 1 yr of service. The SanDisk file recovery utility is far to expensive. They have it rigged so that's the only tool that will recover files from their drive.They must just burn themselves out because they get really to hot. Run hot to get performance and sacrifice lifespan.
