The sound is very good, works fine as a google assistant and it's great to have a battery so you can unplug it and take it wherever you want.

It delivers Quality sound through Google Assistant , all the requested music types at your command ( time and temperature displayed ). It is truly a personal assistant on hand , unlimited resource to information. Then to top all that off, I purchased this at a Black Friday's Best Buy price, an unbelievable deal.

Insignia smart speaker

I use it for my bed alarm clock and I sleep with the white noise on. Just say google play white noise. You can ask it for news, weather, sports and play music or a radio station. I love it.

Works just fine with Google Assistant for most features (no calls, no porting audio from TV to this speaker). Cons: Battery doesn't last very long, maybe 3 hours maximum. Even when not playing music, just being disconnected to AC. Occasionally loses WiFi connection and requires restarting the unit. After approximately 2 1/2 years in, the digits on the temperature display started going out. Who knows how long the other digits will last.

Nice addition to our smart home

Having a clock displayed is a big plus, for me anyway. The top of the unit is blank until you put your hand close to it, then the volume controls light up, nice touch. The only thing is, this speaker is rather large compared to the Google home. Since I bought it online and picked it up at the store, I wasn't aware of how large it actually is. No big deal, just be aware there is a difference in the footprint if your used to how small the Google unit is. (see pic) Highly recommended.

Great Alarm Clock and More!

I'm not a tech savvy type or person, but my wife is and she now is always talking to this google assistant as she makes her shopping list and other reminders which she says makes her day that much easier!

- A:Answer If you approach your hand to the top of the Insignia device you will see a circle between signs of plus and minus. Holding the circle and pressing the minus sign you will decrease the brightness. Holding the circle and the plus sign you will increase the brightness.

- A:Answer I have both and the speaker with the battery is larger and has a down firing woofer which makes it sound much better than the smaller unit. I also have a google home and the larger insignia is much better sounding than the Google home as well. Much louder and balanced sound. My kids can fill the basement with music from the large insignia voice.

Q: QuestionThe temperature doesn’t display when asked or not. Google voice will tell me alarm is set , then tell there’s a glitch try again. Anyone have any problems?

- A:Answer Hi Matt, Thank you very much for purchasing our Insignia Voice Smart Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Google Assistant built in. To address your inquiries about the alarm I want you to know that this unit has battery that will keep the speaker for 5 hours so if there is power loss or Wifi loss will still allow the alarm to trigger. If the Wi-Fi in the environment is poor alarm synchronization between device and cloud may take up to 1 min but typically the server syncs the alarm in the first couple of seconds. Q: QuestionBroadcast not working after firmware upgrade to 314 firmware. Factory reset and reboot. Nothing work.

- A:Answer I also have firmware 314 but don't know when the update occurred. I assume that Broadcast stopped working when the Reply feature was rolled on on my real Google Homes. I can broadcast FROM the Insignia assistants, but they do not receive broadcasts since Reply was rolled out.
