I recently bought an Asus RT-N66W which seems like the White version of RT-N66U. But before I jump to install DD-WRT I wanted to ensure that it indeed differs from RT-N66U only in the plastics.
Would appreciate if anybody who has been able to successfully install DD-WRT on RT-N66W can confirm this.
RT-N66W uses the same stock firmware as RT-N66U B1 so you shouldn't need to worry - everything points at the colour being the only difference between them. _________________ Kernel panic: Aiee, killing interrupt handler!
Thanks LOM.
I was able to successfully install DD-WRT on the Asus RT-N66W. As you stated, it seems the same as the RT-N66U except for the plastics and branding (in UI as well).
Post installation with speedtest.net I consistently experienced 1/4 bitrate over wireless vs. wired ports on the router.
With stock and Merlin firmwares I experienced similar speedtest.net bitrates over both wired and wireless connectivity to the router.
I have read that with the features/services enabled in DD-WRT, lower speeds are expected. But can it be this low and over wireless alone?
I am in the similar situation and debating weather to install DD-WRT or keep the stock firmware.
Are you saying after flashing DD-WRT,
for example, the speed from speedtest.net through wired connection is 100mbps, but through wireless, it only gets 25 mbps?
What mode/speed is the computer connected to the router through the wifi?

Hello,
I have read this wiki and followed it to the letter. I am currently waiting for my router to reboot itself, process has been going for 43 minutes now. Still no effect. Any further help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
Was it a new revision of the 66w? _________________ SIG:
