Plugs into your Internet connection (such as an Internet Router) and a conventional telephone. It can be configured with Google Voice, which is currently free for calls within the US and Canada. It apparently will not work with Skype. Beware, if you use a free online telephone service like Google Voice, you will not have access to 911, so you should keep a secondary phone for emergencies (such as a cell phone). Also, Google Voice is free today, but they could begin charging for the service sometime. Despite these potential drawbacks, the reviews are great. |
