| Details: | Misfit Shine Wearable Health Tracker $79-99 pre-order Misfit Shine is a fashionable, wearable, all-metal device that tracks your everyday movements and reports your health goals. It is about the size of a quarter, and looks really cool. For $79, you can pre-order the Misfit Shine with a Sports Wristband (or $99 for the Shine and a Leather Wristband). A small rubber clip is also included. According to TechnologyReview.com, the product weighs less than two quarters, and runs on a battery that will have to be replaced every 6 months. Check out a video of the Shine. It is expected to be released sometime around March at $99 each plus $15 to $50 for each wristband, so if this product takes off, pre-ordering at the discounted price might be a hot deal. However it could also be a horrible flop, so this is a risky deal only for the brave. We asked Misfit about the 6-month battery life, and they said it will use a standard CR2330 battery which sells for around $4 online. They said the back of the device screws off and the battery can be easily replaced every 6 months. |
