Subject: NEVER CYBERREBATE.COM AGAIN!

I'm having a whole lot of trouble with cyberrebate.com.

I will add below my complaint that I file to BBB.
I will also add the email correspondence with the customer service rep.

The problem is simple. Just because I didn't write the rebate code on the
ENVELOPE, they are not going to send the rebate check, which totals over
$600.

Please warn others.

Thanks.
Daniel

I bought from cyberrebate.com five items totaling over $600, which they say
it is free after rebate. So, after I got my items, I filled out the rebate
form, which asks for ^Órebate code^Ô, order number, my name and address, etc.
I sent each rebate separately as required via certified mail. Later, I went
back to the web site and found out that my rebate status is ^ÓPending further
materials.^Ô The description says that there was no rebate code on the
ENVELOPE! ^ÓBut, it^Òs on the rebate form!^Ô

I called them up asking whether that was a mistake or something. They said
that writing the rebate code on the envelope is one of the four rebate
requirements. The customer care agent added that they require the code on
the envelope so that it is easy for the company^Òs mailman to sort it out. I
checked the rebate form online again and found out that they wrote that
requirement in a way that is easy to miss. All other requirements (staple
original UPC, staple copy of receipt, mail to^Å) were listed in bullets,
which seemed like that is all I needed to do.

I emailed them back and told them that they have all the information needed
for them to send me a check. The rebate code is on the form, the order
number is on the form, and so on. They replied back saying, ^Óeven though we
do have all of your information on the rebate forms,^Ô just because there was
no rebate code on the outside of the envelope, they will not give me the
rebate check.

I emailed them again asking to send me back my rebate form so that I can
send it back ^Ówith the rebate code on the envelope^Ô. They said all
submissions are now their property. Ok. So, ask them to send me a COPY of
it. They replied with the same answer.

Basically they are only looking into technicality and trying to find anyway
possible not to send a rebate. This is totally an unacceptable business
practice and I will not tolerate this.

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for writing.

I apologize for any confusion surrounding this issue, unfortunately all
submissions become the property of CyberRebate.com an will not be
returned, as clearly stated on the rebate form.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.

Derrick,

Ok, it is understandable that the rebate submissions are now the company's
property. So, since you are willing to help me as you said in the
previous
message, send me the COPIES of my five rebate submissions of order
{order #}.
Making 5 copies will take less than a minute. Now, are you going to
refuse
to even do that, too?

Daniel

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for writing.

Please be advised that even though we do have all of your information on
the rebate forms, the forms is only one part of the four things we
require.
In order for us to validate a rebate submission we need the following four
things, as stated on the rebate form, we need the recipt, the original UPC
symbol, the rebate form and the rebate code written on the outside of the
envelope.
On the rebate form the first paragraph entitled "please read the following
instructions" it states clearly to put the rebate code on the envelope, as
well the very last paragraph entitled "important rebate information" it
states that envelopes without the rebate codes may be rejected.
I do apologize for any inconvienence that this situation may have caused
you, your rebates don't expire until 04/30/2001 if you have made copies of
the required materials you still have plenty of time to re-submit before
they expire.

If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us again.

Thank you for the opportunity to be of service.

Sincerely,

Derrick

Dear Larry,

Can you explain why out of several of my rebate submissions, only about
half
were accepted, when ALL of them did not have the code on the envelope?

If you, Larry, do not want to take full responsibility of this matter and
wish not to take part of the lawsuit, it is crucial that you let your
manager know that I am NOT backing off. All of my submissions have been
done through certified mail proving that the company received my mail. On
top of that, the company itself has proven that they received my mail by
indicating that there was no code on the envelope. The company has also
proven itself that they OPENED the envelope and saw the order number
and/or
rebate code on the form to indicate on my web account that there was no
code
on the envelope. All the necessary information needed to send the check
is
on the rebate form and there is absolutely no excuse for not sending the
check.

I understand it would be easier for the company's mailman to sort out
mails
by the rebate code. Nevertheless, that does not justify ANYTHING. It is
clearly proven by the company that my envelope has been opened and
acknowledged that I am requesting the rebate providing all necessary
information.

I will give cyberrebate.com representative one week to respond to my
objection. If I am not satisfied with the response regarding the rebate
of
my order ({order #}), I urge the company be prepared for a serious lawsuit.
And please, take a moment and imagine who's side the jury will be on -
it's
that simple.

Regards,

Daniel

Subject: Rebates

Dear Daniel,

Thank you for contacting us. The rebate code is necessary part of your
rebate submission. Regrettably, we will be unable to process any rebate
submission that does not have a rebate code written on both the envelope
(under the return address) as well as on the form.

If there is anything else I can do for you, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Larry
